Tripwire South and Tripwire Aviation Forcefully Reject Baseless Lawsuit as Smear Campaign by Competitor

May 06, 2025 --

Tripwire South, LLC and its affiliated company, Tripwire Aviation, today issued a formal response to a recently filed lawsuit by Bizzell Corporation, describing it as a malicious and unfounded attempt to harm a growing competitor and sabotage a major U.S. government contract. The suit, filed in federal court in Pennsylvania, makes sensational and factually unsupported claims against Tripwire and its founder, Ryan Morris.

“This lawsuit is not only baseless—it is weaponized litigation designed to damage our reputation, disrupt our operations, and interfere with our business relationships,” said Ryan Morris, CEO of Tripwire South. “We are confident that the legal process will fully exonerate us and reveal this filing for what it is: a smear campaign built on falsehoods and mischaracterizations.”

Facts Contradict the Complaint’s Claims

Tripwire South and Tripwire Aviation are defense contractors serving U.S. and allied partners in compliance with all applicable laws. The core of Bizzell’s complaint is the assertion that Tripwire failed to deliver contracted explosive materials. In truth, Bizzell itself failed to secure the proper federal licenses required for export and handling—licenses that are mandatory under the Arms Export Control Act and federal regulations (22 U.S.C. § 2778; 27 CFR Part 555).

Tripwire repeatedly informed Bizzell of its regulatory obligations. Instead of complying, Bizzell filed suit. The company’s inability to take delivery of materials was not caused by Tripwire, but by Bizzell’s failure to obtain the proper permits—specifically an ATF license and DDTC registration for exporting military-grade explosives.

Personal Attacks and False Allegations

The lawsuit also levies highly personal and salacious allegations against Tripwire’s CEO, Ryan Morris—claims that are irrelevant to the underlying business dispute and factually inaccurate. Contrary to Bizzell’s accusations, Mr. Morris is not the legal owner of Tripwire South or Tripwire Aviation. These inflammatory claims are a transparent attempt to damage Mr. Morris’s standing as a public servant, including his roles on the school board and as a sergeant serving in local law enforcement.

“These attacks cross every line of decency and professionalism,” said Morris. “They’ve put my family and employees at risk, and we will not allow lies to become public record without response.”

Tripwire Will Pursue Legal Remedies

Tripwire South, Tripwire Aviation, and Ryan Morris have retained legal counsel and intend to pursue all remedies available under the law, including sanctions for wrongful use of civil proceedings under Pennsylvania’s Dragonetti Act, and potential defamation claims.
