There are yet more rumours about the Celebrity Big Brother line-up ahead of it being announced

It has been teased that a reality TV star will make a "great housemate" amid reports that they have signed up for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother. The celebrity is the latest rumoured housemate ahead of the show's return.

The show - now broadcast by ITV following its revival by the broadcaster last year - is expected to return next month. There have been a host of rumoured names for the line-up, which has yet to be announced, in recent months.

Ahead of the launch, it's now been reported that RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard, 32 - whose real name is Daniel Curtis - has signed up. The drag artist has previously been on several ITV shows, including having competed on both Britain's Got Talent and Karaoke Club: Drag Edition.

The Sun reports this week that Danny will enter the Big Brother house next month alongside other housemates in the new series. A source told the outlet: "Danny is hilarious and witty yet also great to be around. They're going to make a great housemate for viewers and the other celebs alike."

The news comes following speculation over other potential housemates in recent months. Among those rumoured to be taking part are Coronation Street cast member Jack P. Shepherd, TV presenter Angellica Bell, Love Island's Chris Hughes and former Olympic athlete Daley Thompson.

ITV has however yet to announce the line-up for its second series of Celebrity Big Brother. And a spokesperson for the show told the Mirror in a comment tonight: "Any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation."

Danny - who won the fourth series of RPDR UK, which aired in 2022 - notably appeared on Big Brother companion show Late & Live last year. They made headlines after swearing on the ITV2 show last March whilst doing an impression of Louis Walsh, who was a housemate, in a discussion.

The incident saw guest Danny say the word "c***" before immediately apologising after being informed that they weren't allowed to say that on Late & Live. Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best also apologised to viewers over the situation.

Weeks later, Danny reflected on the experience during an interview with the Mirror. The reality TV star teased that they were "annoyed" at themself for having used the word but said that ITV bosses were "very nice" over the situation.

Danny told us: "I don't stop myself swearing when I'm on Late and Live." The Gossip Gays podcast host went on to share that they typically felt as though they had a "swearing filter" that was "either on or off" depending on the job.

They said: "When I'm on Lorraine, I don't swear - you just know you can't swear - but because you can when on Late and Live, it's means the swearing filter is on. You're swearing filter is either on or off - it's off when I present on Radio 1."

The former panelist continued: "So when your swearing filter is not off ... well, I've learnt the hard way that you need to have a second swearing filter that just filters out the C word alone." They added at the time: "But ITV were very, very nice with me and all the big bosses and they were fine."

Danny said: "They were like 'it was on at 11pm at night, you didn't call anyone the word - you weren't even offensive towards anyone. You were doing a silly impression of Louis'." They added: "Louis, by the way, says the word all the time but just has the luxury of edits and wasn't on live TV. I was just annoyed at myself as I like to think of myself as the ultimate professional and I was so comfortable I forgot!"
