Turkmenbashi city hosts a seminar organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe

The 18th international seminar on simplifying procedures for enhancing opportunities in trade, transport, and information exchange is taking place at the "Deňiz" hotel in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The seminar is organized by UNECE and the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA). The two-day event is attended by representatives from Turkmenistan’s agencies, including "Türkmendeňizderýaýollary," "Türkmendemirýollary," "Türkmenawtoulaglary," "Türkmenaragatnaşyk," "Türkmenhowaýollary," and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, as well as relevant departments from SPECA member countries.

Participants are discussing information exchange on cargo transportation within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which passes through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further into Turkey and European countries. During presentations, it was emphasized that information exchange should comply with the standards of the UN Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT).

UN/CEFACT serves as an auxiliary intergovernmental body of UNECE and acts as a coordinating link for recommendations on trade facilitation procedures and standards for electronic business operations. These standards encompass processes for both entrepreneurial and governmental business activities.
